I have been asked by a friends Mum to make a 70th Birthday card for a friend of hers. I could not decide on what kind of card to make since I didn't know the lady and since it was such a significant birthday.

So in the end I made 3 different designs to enable the friends mum to choose. below are the 3 contenders, at the bottom I will tell you which was the winner!!!

I felt this one was a bit too funky for a 70year old- or at least the ones i know!

Drum roll please..............................

An Amazing Day!

It has taken 23years but we finally made it! Today was a very special day for us, Ash and I drove to Bendigo to meet with my very grown up half brother (same father different mothers) Johann and his wonderful wife Angie! The last time we met (Johann and I) Johann was 4 and I was 16, the time had come to put another piece in each of our puzzles and finally meet. This has been orchestrated from above by our brother Ross (dec). It has been a meeting that was meant to be! By hell or high water Ross was going to make it happen, I am sure he is looking down at us now with look of satisfaction on his face- We all thank you!!
I started the day very very nervous and fearing what might be, 'what if I wasn't...... or if I didn't........or what if he.........' my mind was in overdrive and for those that know me really well, it is certainly no understatement! But with the help over the past few month from ' Magic Marg' and the Macedon 6 I was able to survive the morning and not set many (I tried for none!) expectations for the day. For the first time in a long while I was able to be ME and be comfortable with ME- it's a long journey but slowly slowly slowly I am making progress in the right direction.
Finally the time had come,we all arrived, (following a few glassy eyes)we sat down, made ourselves comfy and talked and talked and talked some more- what a liberating experience! The nerves were gone and it felt like we had only been out of contact for about a year. Leaving was easy, we all knew that this was the beginning, not the end, of more times together.

I am very proud of what we have all achieved today!
Angie, Johann, ME and Ash

Just Johann and ME

Another year older

This week I celebrated yet another birthday, unfortunately they are a must at this time of year!!
I was thoroughly spoiled, not only in the traditional way- presents, but also with the number of phone calls, text messages, facebook messages and also visitors. Making my day a very special one to remember!
Below my birthday card made by Daughter Darcy (7), however she couldn't wait until my birthday and I have been able to enjoy it for the last 2 weeks! A fantastic effort, she has included my favourite colour- orange, my favourite shape- scallop circle and of course some bling! And words to melt your heart.

Darcy, Me and Rylee on my special day!

Tayah's turning 3!

Pocket card

pattern/ tutorial from http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/pocket_card/

A nifty card made for a special little girl who turned 3 on the 6th of January. the card is very easy to make and can be altered easily for men and boys too!! Hopefully soon I will be able to post some pictures of my nieces 21st birthday invitations using the same pattern.
the recipe:

  • Paper from a Heidi Grace paper pack purchased at spotlight which matches perfectly with SU card stock!

  • Pretty in pink, so Saffron and Regal Rose cardstock

  • Rose red 6mm grosgrain ribbon

  • Stickles 'Crystal'

  • 1 1/4" , 1 3/8" SU circles

  • scallop circle

  • JustRite stampers '3'

  • nestabilites

As you can see my favourite -polka dots, has made an appearance!

Slipped inside a white envelope also decorated with the same theme.
I would also like to share with you Louise Hay's daily affirmation, which helps me on my jouney each day.

Wedding Invitations all finished!

I have been working away on some Wedding invitations for some friends of mine. The design chosen by the bride was a relatively simple yet elegant one, however there were only 55 to do and did take a little time! But now they are off to the bride to be posted- yipee!

Sorry for the quality of the photos, I needed to photograph them tonight as we will be heading off early in the morning.

The materials used:

Curious metallics white gold and gold

cuttlebug devine swirls embossing folder

Sizzix hearts die

The front

the inside, the fonts used are Jacoba (for the invitees and the watermark) and Copperplate Gothic light (for the body of the invitation)

All done!
PS: There is no Angelique sitting beside me with a big stick today!! I have done this all by myself :)

Finally.............., first post (she's making me do it!!)

Hello all,

Yes, finally the stars have aligned and the cloud have cleared (for a short while anyway!) and it is time for me to finally write something! The wonderful Ange (Dominatrix!) is sitting by my side with a very big stick and will not let me leave until I have at least something written down and posted!

Firstly, I thought I would share 'my space'
-

This is my crafting area, looking unusually tidy - just for the photo!! however I will post one later down the track of the 'default setting' -mess, mess and more mess!! but what can you expect with creative talent- tidiness? i think not!

and another angle- surprisingly still tidy!

Bye until the next time Ange comes around for a cuppa!
Many thank to Angelique for giving me that gentle shove/whipping! XX
